Moving through busy streets, marketplaces, and public spaces, the team spoke with residents about the impacts of climate change, the importance of proper waste management, and simple actions individuals can take to protect the environment. The campaign created opportunities for meaningful conversations, encouraging community members to see themselves as part of the solution to environmental challenges.

Through this collective effort, the initiative reached more than 6,000 people, raising awareness on climate action, reducing littering, and promoting cleaner and healthier communities. Beyond sharing information, the campaign gathered community perspectives and recommendations on environmental challenges affecting the municipality.

The findings and key recommendations from the campaign were subsequently presented to the Mayor of Bamenda III Council to help inform local decision-making and strengthen policies related to environmental management, waste management, and community climate action. This engagement demonstrated how grassroots advocacy can bridge the gap between citizens and local authorities, ensuring that community voices contribute to shaping sustainable development solutions.

The Community Climate Awareness Campaign highlights the power of youth-led action, public participation, and community engagement in advancing environmental stewardship and climate resilience. Communities that are informed, engaged, and empowered to take action for a cleaner environment and a more sustainable future.
